Specialized Services

The physicians at Lepow Podiatric Medical Associates pride themselves on utilizing the latest, most effective and safe technologies to treat painful foot and ankle disorders. Examples of these technologies and new devices include arthroscopic surgery, absorbable fixation (pins and screws), and the new shock-wave therapy treatment for chronic heel pain and plantar fascitis. This newest and exciting nonsurgical treatment for heel pain was first developed and tested in 1991. The technology has been used successfully for years in the treatment of painful kidney stones. Treatment of musculoskeletal conditions such as chronic heel pain shows great promise.

Our physicians also utilize plastic surgical techniques and skin closures when appropriate to eliminate the possibility of painful or unsightly scars.

We have been able to adapt most procedures to an outpatient setting utilizing local anesthesia for safe, comfortable and painless surgery.

Dr. Gary Lepow is pioneering a new technique for the common condition of Morton's Intermetatarsal Neuroma. In the past, this painful condition was treated by surgical removal of the involved nerve. Now with new instrumentation, Dr. Lepow can decompress the nerve (similar to carpal tunnel release) through a micro incision. Patients can often return to shoe wear and work in a few days.

We offer a new level of care delivered to the homebound, nursing home or assisted living patient. Home Foot Care has licensed podiatrists that will provide preventative clinical services, these services are medical not cosmetic. Treatment may include one or more of the following services:

  • Trimming or removal of calluses or corns
  • Treatment of wounds or ulcers on the foot or ankle
  • Treatment of infections, bacterial or fungal
